Summer is here! It’s the perfect time to get out in the sunshine and experience something new. It doesn’t matter how adventurous you are, there’s always something you can try. To get your summer bucket list started, here are 12 unique experiences to give a go.

  1. Work Abroad

There’s something so satisfying about spending your summer making money while technically on holiday. There are loads of different work abroad jobs you can try your hand at. From farming in Croatia to becoming a holiday rep in Cyprus.

  1. Volunteer

Want to give something back to the community this summer? How about volunteering for a local organisation? You could work at the local soup kitchen, feeding the hungry. Or, you could help nearby children’s charities take kids on fun days out. Volunteering will give you a whole new perspective on life.

  1. Explore the Countryside

Wherever you live in the world, we’re willing to bet you’re not too far from the countryside. Hop on a train and become one with nature. You could go one step further and take some camping equipment. There’s nothing better than a night under the summer stars.

  1. Go to a Festival

As soon as the sun comes out to play, the festival season arrives. If you’ve never been to a music festival before then you’re really missing out. It doesn’t have to be a massive event, like Glastonbury. Sometimes, the best festivals are the smaller, independent ones.

  1. Go Fishing on a Kayak

There’s something so peaceful about sitting on the water, catching fish. Take a look at this guide that reviews the best fishing kayaks of 2015. We bet it makes you want to find the nearest river and catch fish.

  1. Go Deep Sea Diving

If you’d prefer to be under the sea, then how about giving deep sea diving a go? You can find a range of local courses around the globe. Once you’re ready, take on the depths of the ocean. Make sure you invest in an underwater camera!

  1. Try Surfing

Sticking with the water theme, surfing is an awesome activity for the summer. There are beaches all over the world which are great for riding some waves. Even the UK has some pretty fantastic beaches for surfing.

  1. Fruit Picking

If you want to make a bit of extra cash and enjoy the sunshine, consider fruit picking. There are farms everywhere crying out for fruit pickers during the summer months. You may even get to take home some of what you’ve picked.

  1. Skydiving

Okay, so you may need to be a little more adventurous for this one. However, the weather conditions in the summer are perfect for skydiving. Why wouldn’t you want to jump out of a plane? Seriously.

  1. Hot Air Balloon

If you like the idea of being in the sky, but not jumping, consider a hot air balloon ride. Take your loved one up for a champagne lunch. Alternatively, go it alone and see the world from a different perspective.

  1. Full Moon Party

Want to get out of the country for a new experience? Thailand is the home for summer travellers. You’ll never experience anything quite like a Full Moon Party. We can promise you that!

  1. Host a BBQ

If too many of these ideas sound like hard work, then here’s a nice and easy one. Host your own BBQ party in the garden. It’s quick, easy and a great way to get all your friends together.

Embrace summer! It only comes around once a year, so make the most of it. You’ll wish you had when the rainy days come back again.
