12 Things To Do When Preparing For A Paintball Tournament

Paintballing is a fun pastime where the aim is for teams of players to eliminate their opponents by “tagging” them with paint. You can tag people with paintball guns that contain paint capsules. The good news about the paint used is that it’s water-soluble and non-toxic.

Some people consider that the skills learnt are akin to military combat skills, save for the lack of live ammunition. Paintballing is a great way for players to “let off some steam” following a stressful week of work, for example. If you want to ensure you have a fruitful tournament, follow these twelve simple steps for success!

  1. Sign up to your local tournament

Before you can get started, you first need to sign up for a tournament! There will doubtless be a local venue near you.

  1. Decide how long your tournament is

Most people go paintballing for the day. Whereas others prefer tournaments that span two or three days. Find out which option you and your friends prefer.

  1. Compile a list of interested players

You can’t have a paintball tournament without any people! That’s why it’s important to get as many of your friends signed up as possible.

  1. Find out how much the tournament will cost

You will need to consider fees like equipment rental, the cost of paintball capsules and so forth. It’s a good idea for everyone to buy desert boots for urban military scenarios. There will be a lot of running and walking, so you all need good quality boots!

  1. Determine which hotels are nearby

It’s likely that you and your teammates will want to relax over a few beers after the tournament. It makes sense for people to stay overnight at some nearby hotels.

  1. Negotiate discounts

It’s worth asking the paintball venue manager if they are willing to reduce their fees for your group. Especially if you have a large group of friends willing to play in the tournament!

  1. Have a good night’s sleep before the big day

I recommend that you have at least eight hours sleep the night before your paintballing tournament. That way, you can ensure that you feel invigorated the next day.

  1. Drink plenty of water on the day

Paintballing is a physical sport. It’s essential that you keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Staying hydrated will also help you to stay alert and focused.

  1. Discuss tactics with your teammates

The thing about paintballing is that you all have to work together to defeat your opponents. That’s why you should spend some time discussing tactics with your fellow paintballers!

  1. Ensure your paintball guns are in working order

Before you all begin, you should make sure that the equipment you use is in good working order. The last thing you want is to get hit because your paintball gun jammed!

  1. Be aware of your surroundings

Just like in military combat, you should be aware of your surroundings. That way, you can spot any opponents that are hiding out of the way and are aiming their guns at you!

  1. Enjoy yourselves

Last, but not least, you should all make sure you have fun!
